My Approach to Counselling

What Does “Integrative Counselling” Mean?

Integrative counselling simply means combining different counselling approaches so we can work in the way that’s most helpful for you. Some clients prefer a space to talk openly, while others appreciate practical tools to help manage difficult thoughts or feelings. Together, we’ll find the balance that works best for you.

🌿 Person-Centred Therapy

This approach is based on the belief that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to provide empathy, acceptance, and understanding, so you can explore your feelings safely and discover your own answers.

🌿 Psychodynamic Therapy

Sometimes our present struggles are connected to past experiences. Psychodynamic therapy helps us gently explore patterns, relationships, and influences from the past that may be shaping how you feel today.

🌿 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It offers practical tools to recognise unhelpful patterns and develop healthier ways of coping with challenges like anxiety, stress, or low mood.

How We’ll Work Together

Every session is your time and your space. You set the pace, and I will always respect your boundaries. Some people like to explore deeply; others prefer practical strategies they can take into daily life. Many clients benefit from a mixture of both.

You don’t need to prepare or know exactly what to say — just come as you are. My role is to listen, to support, and to walk alongside you as you make sense of things and move forward.

🌿 A Safe and Supportive Space

No matter which approach we use, the foundation of my work is always the same: to offer a compassionate, non-judgmental, and confidential space where you feel safe to be yourself.
