Hi, I'm Andy

I’m a qualified counsellor based in Sandycroft, supporting individuals both in-person and online. My role is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, and begin to find clarity and balance.

My Journey Into Counselling

My own experience with counselling in my twenties was life-changing. Like many people, I’ve faced moments of grief, self-doubt, and struggle with mental health. These experiences gave me a deep understanding of what it feels like to seek support and inspired me to become a counsellor myself.

I was motivated by a desire to help others navigate difficult times — whether it’s coping with loss, managing anxiety, or simply seeking meaning and confidence in life.

My Qualifications & Professional Standards

I am a fully trained and qualified counsellor with a strong foundation in both theory and practice. My qualifications include:

  • CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills

  • CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies

  • CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

  • MSc in Psychology

This means I:

✔ Work within strict professional and ethical guidelines

✔ Take part in regular supervision to ensure safe, effective practice

✔ Commit to ongoing training and development

Your confidentiality and wellbeing are always my top priority.

My Professional Background

Before training as a counsellor, I spent many years working in project and programme management across industries including retail, logistics, and technology development. This experience taught me strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to guide complex processes — skills I now bring into my counselling practice to ensure sessions are structured, reliable, and fully focused on your needs.

My Values as a Counsellor

When you work with me, you’ll find:

  • A warm, empathetic listener

  • A non-judgmental space where you can be yourself

  • Support to help you explore challenges at your own pace

  • A collaborative approach, helping you find your own path forward

Beyond Counselling

Outside of my work, I’m married with three children. I’ve lived in Wales since I was 18, with time spent living overseas in Central Europe.

I enjoy travelling, motorbikes, music, and films — interests that help me stay grounded and bring balance to my life. I also share my home with two dogs and a cat, who never fail to bring a smile and remind me of the simple joys in life.

Let’s Take the Next Step Together
